As a manufacturer of sustainable flexible packaging, our work is intrinsically linked to the well-being of our community and the preservation of the environment in which we operate. Our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is manifested through active contributions to drive improvements in the social, economic and environmental aspects of our surroundings. We are firmly committed to creating a positive and sustainable impact on our community and the nature that surrounds us.
Our entire strategy is based on environmental care, the well-being of all the people involved in the production chain and our contribution to society.
Materials from sustainable forests
Since December 2023 we have been FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) and PEFC® (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified.
This certification guarantees that the forest-based material we purchase to manufacture our paper bags and paper reels originates from sustainably managed forests, taking into consideration ecological, social and economic aspects.
Certifications
Having quality, environmental, food safety or corporate social responsibility certifications, as well as participating in initiatives related to sustainability and ethics, drives us to successfully pass audits.
The increasing demands on the supply chain mean that our facilities and processes are periodically audited by accredited certifiers. At Coverpan we are convinced that these audits bring us even closer to our customers and help us to improve and grow in a sustainable and efficient way.
These two latest accreditations increase our competitiveness in an industry increasingly committed to environmental sustainability, and with our certification we maintain our environmental commitment to our customers.
FSC® Forest Management is a certification with the objective of promoting sustainable forest management that is carried out in an economically viable, socially beneficial and environmentally responsible manner.
PEFC® is the most widely implemented international forest certification system. As a non-profit, non-governmental organization, it works to ensure forest sustainability with a local perspective that generates benefits for all.
What do PEFC and FSC certificates mean?
At Coverpan, as a manufacturer of flexible paper packaging, we recognize the growing importance of sustainability, a demand not only from consumers, but also a strategic necessity to ensure the continuity of our business. We are strongly committed to preserving the environment and encourage our customers to develop products that are safe for both consumers and nature.
Responsible resource management and proper waste management are key actions in terms of sustainability and eco-design. Our choice to use PEFC and FSC certified paper addresses the first part of this equation by ensuring that the raw material used in our packaging comes from sustainably managed forests.
PEFC and FSC certificates emerged in response to the international call for a boycott of tropical forest products in the 1980s. These certificates, through rigorous audits, ensure that forestry companies manage their forests in accordance with principles that guarantee responsible and sustainable use of the environment. PEFC, the world’s most widespread forest certification system, certifies more than 300 million hectares in more than 30 countries, providing a guarantee that paper and board products meet agreed sustainability standards.
FSC certification allows companies to communicate their commitment to responsible forest management on their product packaging. This seal not only provides consumers with the ability to identify and choose sustainable products, but also ensures proper segregation and identification of certified products at each stage of the supply chain, avoiding contamination and mixing with non-certified products.
At Coverpan, we are proud to partner with externally recognized certifications to support our mission of providing packaging solutions that respect the principles of sustainability and preserve our natural environment.
